Last year I didn’t make cookies very much. I don’t know why, I guess I just wasn’t in the mood. This Fall I’ve been finding some really yummy cookie recipes. So many that I don’t have time to try them all! I even found a fun new blog called Cookie Madness. Check it out!
Now I love chocolate chip cookies as much as anyone…
…and I have been fascinated by certain bloggers that have taken the time to cook different types of chocolate chip cookie recipes to find the absolute BEST one. I am NOT going to do that because I just don’t have that kind of time! But if you would like to see some of their findings…here’s a few to read:

But here are 2 wonderfully yummy cookie recipes I’ve made recently. They are a nice “spin” on the traditional chocolate chip cookie. Enjoy!
M& M Chocolate Chip Cookies (from Lauren’s Kitchen)
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/3 C. M&M’s, divided
3/4 C. chocolate chips
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. Beat butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar and vanilla in a large bowl until well blended. Add eggs; beat well. Gradually add flour mixture, beating until well blended. Stir in 3/4 cup M&Ms and 3/4 C. chocolate chips. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto cookie sheet. Press 5-6 of remaining M&Ms on each cookie before baking.
Bake 9-11 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Yields about 3-3 1/2 dozen cookies.
Note: My co-blogger, Laura doesn’t even like Peanut Butter, and she & I, and our friends Mary & Amy, absolutely devoured these cookies. They are that good!
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter (smooth or chunky)
1/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup old-fashioned oatmeal, uncooked
3/4 cup chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Using an electric mixer, combine butter and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until fluffy. Add peanut butter and brown sugar, beating well until thoroughly combined. Scrape sides of bowl with spatula. Add egg and vanilla then mix until smooth. In a small bowl stir together flour and baking soda, then add to cookie dough and mix just until blended. Using a mixing spoon, stir in oatmeal and chocolate chips. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until cookies are lightly browned. Remove from oven and let cool 5 minutes before removing from cookie sheets.
