Homemade Cheese Ball

Hi everyone!  The next several posts are going to be related to my upcoming “Thanksgiving Inspiration” post.  Enjoy some of my favorite holiday recipes!

Homemade Cheese Ball (from mom)

  • 4 oz. (113 g) blue cheese
  • 8 oz. (227 g) grated cheddar cheese (grate it yourself, don’t get pre-grated)
  • 3 oz. (85 g) cream cheese
  • 1 TBL. minced parsley
  • 1 TBL. minced onion
  • 1 tsp. worcestershire
  • 3/4 C. chopped nuts (you can use mixed nuts, or I like them with just chopped almonds too)

Let cheeses stand at room temperature to soften.  Blend with parsley, onion, worcestershire, and 1/4 C. nuts.  Shape into a ball.  Roll the ball in 1/2 C. chopped nuts.  Wrap in wax paper and refrigerate for several hours.  Remove the cheese ball from the fridge one hour before serving.  Serve with crackers or toasted baguette.
